Maranatha Power Ministries was born through a revelation God gave me in January 1996, the 18th day of a 40 Day fast. I was in the spirit and God took me to a very remote place and showed me the broken foundation of a mighty building that was destroyed by flood. The owner came forth and gave me the charge saying, "Repair and Build". Then I asked him: "where do I get workers in this remote place to repair this building?". Suddenly, people started coming from the bush with tools for the work. The owner handed over the plan for the building, and then I woke up. Indeed, on February 6, 1996, the Holy Spirit directed me to this remote place, and Maranatha Power Ministries was born that year.

During these forty days of fasting, praying and seeking the face of God, I usually woke up at night and dawn to pray. God healed a child who had been sick for about 4 days .The family of the child who were next door heard the worship songs that I was singing and they also started praying along for their son and he was healed instantly. The next evening, the couple came and testified to the glory of God. They told me that they realized God had sent me to the community to bring transformation. A month after my fasting the Afotey and Nupkor's family started a morning devotion and within four months it became a community morning devotion, and later turned into about 28 member fellowship. In the fifth month, Maranatha Power Ministries commenced with a 28 member congregation, surprisingly, at the second week the number dropped to fourteen so the fourteen people formed the nucleus God used as the foundation for Maranatha Power Ministries. The people became part of the beginning ceremony of the church, and in the second week they left for their various home churches. The church started in an uncompleted garage with no running water, light, widows, and doors and in bush community. It was very tough. Maranatha Power Ministries has made this far only by the Spirit and Grace of God and not by man but He who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what the human mind can apprehend and comprehend.
